Kite Festival

I have been looking forward to the kite festival like a kid looks forward to Christmas.  Since last year, it is one of my must-do family events.  Sitting on a blanket eating a picnic lunch and watching my kids play with kites has to be one of the best things in life.  And like all best things...it's free. :)  Olive played a game with me where she would say "bye, bye!" and run down the hill, then walk back up and say "hello."  She did this about 20 times and each time thought it was hilarious. Can they just stay 2 and 4 forever?

Hannah loved the kite races

Olive with her clown fish.  Last year she made it into the KC Star with the fish.

The purple cat was Olive's favorite.  I liked a giant fish, Hannah a manta ray, and Steve liked the trick kites that did dives over the crowd.

Our new macaw kite!  Hannah was excited to see our macaw twin at the festival.  Although if you ask her, she usually calls this a hawk.

And our old black and pink splash paint kite still gets some love.

The best way to end our perfect day?  A sleepover at the Vrooman's house!  Hannah was super excited to see Norah.  It has been way too long!  And we found out the gender of Norah's new sibling due in August:  a girl. :)

How often do kites get tangled together and who helps untangle them. LOL See any float away???
