Girl Scout Overnight

My co-leader and I got very brave and went on an overnight with 20 girl scouts.  It included climbing a 50 ft tower, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, a nature walk, hair braiding, a pillow fight, staying up too late, breakfast bagels, and morning crafting.  It was a memorable time!

Hannah and two other girls climbed to the very top of the tower.  That girl has no fear.

SOAR award for 3rd quarter

Hannah's first Battle of the Books team.  I was a co-leader of her team.  The answered questions over 20 books they read over the course of the year and competed against other 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams.  The won against a couple of 6th grade teams, but ultimately didn't make it to the final four.  Still really proud of their hard work and I had fun meeting with them over monthly lunches.

T-bird serve event where we packed food for others.

I taught first grade in a long term substitute job for Hannah and Olive's former first grade teacher.  One of the highlights- going on a field trip to Arrowhead Stadium.

I got my hair crimped for a girls night to see New Kids on the Block in concert.  It was my favorite band when I was in third grade.  It is amazing how many lyrics I can still remember after about 30 years!

Another fun trip: Hermann weekend with the Chases.

Best night of the year: school carnival!

Field Day!

4th grade Try-It Night.  Spoiler: she went with the cello.

Volleyball

Hannah's first time playing volleyball!  Her grade formed a team to play in Blue Valley Parks & Rec, since there isn't a league in our area.  Forming a team in the spring of fourth grade meant our girls were competing against teams that had played together for years.  We lost every game by a landslide.  But the girls had fun together and gained lots of skills over the season.  And Hannah was definitely one of the strongest players on her team.  She consistently got her serves over the net and wasn't afraid to hit the ball.  We can't wait to see how this team progresses next season!

Spring Soccer

Hannah's team really pulled together this season!  They won all but one game!  It was really awesome to watch them improve so much.  They did a much better job of passing and working together.  Hannah played defender and really likes that position.  When they had gray jerseys last year they name themselves Thunder.  This year they were Lightning because of the florescent green.
