Boo at the Zoo

We tried out Boo at the Zoo this year.  Hannah found a bunny mask and decided to be bunny girl this time.  Luckily all of these Halloween costumes are found in her dress up box.

Jack-o-Lanterns

Preschool had a petting zoo and pumpkin patch visit on Friday.  All of their field trips are brought to the school instead of going to the location.  The girls got to pet a goat, pig, chicken, duck, and rabbit and also pick out their own pumpkin.  Hannah woke up saying, "It's animal day!!"  She said the rabbit was her favorite.  She was very excited to carve her pumpkin this weekend.

Trunk or Treat and Birthday Party

We went to Trunk or Treat at the girls' preschool last weekend.  An hour before we left Hannah decided she was not going to be a butterfly as planned, but a flower fairy. Luckily they both have wings and we had the other props around the house.

 

 

And she let me try out an around-the-head french braid.  It turned out pretty good for my first time.  I'm so happy I have girls. :)  All of that hair braiding practice on Barbie dolls growing up is finally paying off.

I didn't get too many pictures from my party, but it was a blast!  We had the Prewitts, Finleys, Vroomans, and Holcombes over for grilled hotdogs, homemade macaroni, apple cider, and cheesecake.  There's nothing I like more than friends talking around a fire and playing board games.  I even won Apples to Apples.  It was a great night and the kids all had fun, too.

Olive Stats- 18 months

Olive is now 32 inches tall and 23 pounds 8 ounces.  She has 12 teeth, sleeps 11 hours at night plus a 2 hour nap, and eats just about anything.  Even with all of her eating, she is losing her baby fat and looking skinnier (I'm not sure about taller).  She continues to have breathing issues and we make frequent trips to the doctor.  Luckily, she's a trouper and doesn't complain much about the inhalers.  She is talking a lot now.  I know a lot of people say the second child is late to talk because the older sibling talks for them.  It seems like the opposite happened.  Having an older sister introduces her to more words and she talks MORE than Hannah did at her age.  Hannah has a stuffed zebra, so Olive learned the word zebra.  Hannah likes horses, so Olive says neigh all the time.  Here's a list of her words (that I can remember at the moment): mama, dada, sister (sisa), Hannah, Olive (Aw-wa), papa, baby, hi, bye, up, down, on, all done, more, no, hot (ha), blue, milk (ma), book (ba), ball (ba), sock (saw), happy, zebra (zeba), dog (da), owl, bee, apple, poop, night (nigh), moon (moo), sun (suh).  She also does sign language for please, more, all done, come here.  She has said some phrases like "up on Mama" and her favorite one "I don't know."  She says this with arms raised in a shrug when we ask her a question.

Olive is very emotional.  She is either super happy, giving us lots of kisses, and posing with her head on her shoulder to show off her cuteness.  Or she is mad at the world when things don't go her way.  There have been some biting incidents at preschool!  She loves Hannah and copies everything she does...but she also gets upset and yells at her.  Olive stands up for herself even with older kids.  She is playful, smart, stubborn, and we love her a lot.

Messy Morning

We did a Parents as Teachers event with the Finleys called Messy Morning.  It was the perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday.  My girls are not very messy, but they still had fun.  Their favorite thing was the swimming pool or rice and beans.
 

 

 

McWeekend- Pumpkin Patch

The McGuires stayed with us the last weekend of September.  They requested we go to the pumpkin patch after seeing it on our blog last year.  We went on opening day and we were some of the first to arrive.  Just like last year, it was a beautiful day and we had a great time!  I'm glad we got to share it with friends.

 

 

 

 

 

 

That's Hannah's classroom mascot, Cleo the Caterpillar   It was our weekend to take care of Cleo and then take pictures and write about our adventures.  Hannah drew a really cute picture of her and Cleo and also wrote our their names.  Then Hannah shared it with her class on Monday.

Hannah and the boys did the zipline!  Steve didn't believe she could hold herself up to do it, but she did.  It was definitely her favorite thing at the pumpkin patch.
