Picking Strawberries

I've been wanting to go to a farm to pick fresh fruit for awhile, but we never seemed to time it right.  Finally- strawberry picking!  We met Ollie and Penny in Edgerton, KS (about 40 minutes from our house.)  Olive wore a dress-up skirt and carried a wand.  She also refused to move from the middle of a mud puddle.  Toddlers.  But we still had a blast and each girl ate about a pound of strawberries.  What a great summer morning!

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ernie Miller Nature Center

Our first time at Ernie Miller Nature Center in Olathe, KS.  We went with Brody and Levi for a special preschool program on turtles.

2nd Grade Bowling

2nd grade bowling party: Hannah's first time bowling.  She loved it!  She scored 55 her first game and 68 the second.  She almost kept up with the 2nd graders.  She jumped up and down with excitement each time, no matter if 9 pins were knocked down or none.

 

 

 

Wonderscope

The girls barely remembered going to Wonderscope a year ago.  This time Olive was into the legos and Hannah liked the Farm to Market room.

My "Retirement" Party

Steve said having a "retirement" party is offensive to those that work.  I get it.  I was once one of you.  But, now I'm not...so I'm going to have a party. :)  But seriously...who doesn't like a good excuse to get everyone together, grill some burgers, and play some washers?  We ended up with 14 adults, 8 kids (age 4 and under), plus 2 still in utero.   I wish it would have been a little warmer, but everything else was great.

 

Pushing toys were very popular with the 2 and under set.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh yeah, I got my hair cut to look like Marissa.  New life, new hair.  That's my motto.

And of course we watched season 4 of Arrested Development that was released on Netflix on May 26.  We went over to the Baileys for a viewing party.  The guys stayed up until 3:00 watching all 15 episodes.  Wendy and I fell asleep long before that.

Bathtime

Olive has never taken a bath in the big tub without Hannah.  And I doubt Hannah remembers ever taking a bath without Olive.
