Adventure #6: Gymboree Classes

Our latest on-going adventure has been attending Gymboree Play & Learn classes.  It is basically free play time with one "skill" focus and different equipment set-up each week.  One week the skill was "up and down" and the teacher showed the kids how to do things on the equipment and toys that went up and down.  She is in the 16- 22 month class and I was a little nervous about her being the youngest one and keeping up with the other kids.  But of course she is doing great and everyone thinks she is older, partly because she is tall and partly because she fearlessly tries everything!  It has been fun to watch her interact with other kiddos...and especially the teacher.  She is a big-time teacher's pet!  Whenever the teacher asks the kids to do something like throw beanbags through a ring or climb through a tunnel, Hannah is first to demonstrate the task.

Hannah's favorite things in class are bubbles and the giant parachute.  Just about every time the parachute comes out at the end of class Hannah squeals with joy.  She loves running on it, sitting on it while we spin her around, and being underneath it.

Rating: I give it a thumbs up, except if I am thinking about cost it would be a sideways thumb.  The monthly membership fee is pretty steep, especially if you only go once a week (we go several times).  Of course Hannah gives it a big thumbs up.
