Olive Stats- 6 years
Olive is now 42 pounds (27th percentile) and 46 inches tall (55th percentile). She gained 5 pounds and grew 2.5 inches this year. Here are her stats from year one, two, three, four. and five.
Olive is a very proud kindergartener this year. She was half-day for the first quarter of school, but she asked me on the very first day of school if she could go full-day. I consented as soon as soccer season was over so she started full-day on October 31 and never looked back! She loves school! She learned to read very quickly in the fall and she especially enjoys reading a book to the class once a week. She also loves writing and fills up notebooks with stories. She also started speech class in January. Even though I miss the way she said her "l" sound as a "y," it is great to see her make progress so quickly. Olive likes being silly, but she takes school seriously and does not want to get in trouble. Here is what her teacher wrote about her on the most recent report card: She continues to excel in reading and writing. Olive likes math and loves to add numbers! She is such a wonderful role model for her classmates and always tries her best.
Hannah is still her favorite person on the planet. And her favorite thing to do is play with her. Olive's class is still at recess when Hannah's class comes out in the afternoon. She will stop playing with her own friends and run and play with Hannah's friends for the last five minutes of her recess. And the 2nd graders let her play because she has been tagging along with them since Hannah started school.
Olive continues to wear her heart on her sleeve, often going through several emotions in just a few minutes! If she is happy, then she is laughing and joyful. If she gets mad, she is yelling! She is often shy and hesitant with new activities or people, but she is very outgoing and silly once she is comfortable. She often makes funny faces to get people to laugh, especially Hannah. Olive is kind and loving. If Hannah is sad, she brings her stuffed animals to make her feel better. If someone falls down, she is the first one to help them up. And she loves teaching and helping younger kids. The older she gets, the more I see myself in her. But there is definitely a part of her that is pure Olive and doesn't take after me or Steve! She is the spice in our life and really completes our family. We love Olive!
