Halloween

Hannah's class (with a few younger siblings).  Notice Olive, who loves to dress up, DID NOT want to wear a costume for Halloween.  Of course.

I was in charge of the Halloween party activities.  It was weird being on the parent side instead of the teacher side.

Olive was very well behaved during the party.

But this is what she looked like during most of Halloween day...

After talking about being a ballerina for months, she decided that morning that she wanted to be a pirate.  As soon as she put on the costume, she wanted to be a princess.  Then she didn't want to dress up and go trick-or-treating at all.  That was fine with me, but I explained that she wouldn't get any candy staying at home.  She finally decided she would give it a try.

We went to Corinth Shops to trick-or-treat and after the first shop Olive said, "This is the best day of my life."  That girl is a roller coaster.  

The shops were a great place to trick-or-treat.  Everything was close together.  You got to see lots of kid costumes (and adults, too!).  Plus it was during the day, so it was much warmer than night!

Their baskets are over twenty-five-years-old and belonged to Marissa and me.  They get lots of compliments on them each year.

It was very cold once the sun went down.  Olive went to two neighborhood houses, then we took her back home.

Hannah and I went out again and we randomly met up with one of her kindergarten friends.  They had a blast going to all the houses together.  We finally went home when the basket couldn't hold any more candy!
