The Sensenich family (friends of Steve's parents) make homemade apple cider every fall. We haven't been to it in years because we didn't really know how to do it when the kids were little. But now that we no longer have babies or nap times, working outside all day is doable. Hannah loved it. Several people commented on how hardworking she was. Most the kids there were throwing apples and jumping on the trampoline, while Hannah took her job very seriously....with only a few trampoline breaks. She worked at every station from gathering apples and washing them to straining the juice into bottles. Olive helped out a lot, too. It just didn't hold her interest all day, especially when she was cold and hungry. I can't blame her. I was impressed that she paid attention enough to recite the entire process of making cider to us at dinner. The girls both agreed the cider tasted better because they helped make it.

Kids could go in and eat anytime they wanted.
Most of the foods were left on the table. LOL
You didn't mention they all got a bit wet with the progress.
Still wish Mike would let us cut back on the amount of apples he wants to do. LOL
Lots of work for everyone to get it done before nightfall.
Oh, Olive and I definitely took several snack breaks inside! :)
