Busy Weekend

Steve was on the east coast for work the week of April 26-30.  He went to Baltimore, MD, Reading, PA, and also to Arlington, VA to visit his sister, brother-in-law, and niece.  Sorry, no pictures.  While he was gone Hannah and I took a lot of trips to the park and her first trip to the library (where she gleefully started screaming and running around wanting me to chase her).  I thought it was going to be a looooong week with just the two of us, but I was amazed by how much easier it is to take care of her now that she is older.
Steve was home on Friday and we went to the Corporate Challenge Kick-off Party.  Steve has been doing events for Corporate Challenge since we've moved to KC, but this was the first year we went to the kick-off.  There is no competition, but everyone does a 1 mile walk and all the teams set up and BBQ/Tailgate.  We saw the Wendy and Dan Bailey and some other runner friends.
Saturday morning Steve ran the Dragon Dash 5k with a few friends...and a bunch of elementary kids. :)  Steve beat every single elementary kid in the race.
Saturday evening the Finleys came over to visit.  I got to see Baby Brody for the first time!  He is 4 months old and rolling over already.  Brody is absolutely adorable and smiles all the time. After the kiddos went to bed, we played some board games and tried to have the Spring Olympics.  It was not very well organized and no medals awarded.  In fact, we never really pinned down the participating countries.

Sunday we had more visitors.  My cousin Amanda brought her niece and nephew over to play.  Oliver is 2 and Bella is 1.  Here's a picture Amanda took of the girls at the playground.  Hannah is practicing her "gentle touches."

And Sunday evening Steve's parents came over for dinner and some Hannah playtime.  Hannah liked having her Granny read lots of books to her.  Busy weekends can sometimes be hectic, but this one was enjoyable.  It really helped that people came to see us instead of us running around, too.  The weekend felt really long since we did so many things.  It made it seem like summer vacation and I almost forgot I had to go back to work on Monday.
