Farmers Market & Lawrence

I have been looking forward to going to farmers markets for weeks, but we have either been out of town or busy.  I finally got my chance last weekend!  Steve did a morning bike ride and Hannah and I went to the market in downtown Overland Park. She started out walking beside me, but after refusing to hold my hand and trying to run away from me.... she ended up in the stroller.

When Steve got home we headed to Lawrence.  Just like the last time we went there, Steve wanted to look at bikes.  We went to the bike shop for him, an art parade for me, and a toy store for Hannah.  It was a great day.  Here's Hannah at the parade (with a special soft focus effect on the picture).

Licking ice cubes during the parade.

Art Tougeau was a colorful (and short) parade of weird cars and bicycles.  It was perfect for a toddler's attention span.  They even park the bikes and cars before and after the parade to let everyone see them up close.  Click on the link and then "photos" to see all of the cool entries.  I predict Steve will want us to be in his parade in the future.

This was one of my favorites:  keyboard keys were glued all over the car.

To cool off after the parade we went to Lawrence's awesome toy store.  It is huge with lots of tables to play with the toys.  Hannah loved it.  Best of all, she taught herself how to go down the slide!  Here's a blurry picture, but it shows her excitement.  She's gone down slides before, but always with us positinging her at the top and catching her at the bottom.  Now she can walk up the steps, sit down, and slide all by herself.  She was very proud.  When we went to the park this week she was all over the slides. :)
